Hide-and-Seek Mansion Map Guide
The Hide-and-Seek Mansion is the map most Meccha Chameleon players meet first, and many keep coming back to it long after they have tried everything else. According to the developer, it was the map that took the most time to make, and it shows. It is packed with rooms, furniture, decorations and surfaces that suit every style of hiding. This guide covers how the Mansion is laid out, how its randomised furniture works, the best hiding ideas for each area and how Hunters should approach it.

Layout
The Mansion is built around a busy central hall surrounded by quieter side rooms. The main hall has pillars, decorations and a lot of open space, while the side rooms include a library, a kitchen and storage and salon areas. This mix means you can choose between hiding in a crowded, noisy space where Hunters pass constantly and in a calmer room they may reach later.
Randomised Furniture
Shortly after launch, the developer added randomisation to the Mansion: furniture and other elements now change between rounds, and the plan is to extend this to all maps. It keeps the Mansion from becoming solved. For Hiders it means reading the room each time instead of running to a memorised spot. For Hunters it means relying less on memory and more on spotting things that look out of place.
Best Hiding Ideas by Area
Library
The library is the Mansion’s most famous hiding area. Crouch among the bookshelves and paint yourself in narrow vertical blocks of colour that match the book spines. The shelves break up your outline, and Hunters scanning at standing height often miss a compact crouched shape. Use the eyedropper on several books; the variety of colours is what sells the disguise.
Main hall pillars and ceiling
For advanced players, clinging to the ceiling next to one of the pillars in the main hall is one of the strongest spots in the game. Hunters rarely look up. It does demand careful paint work, because the ceiling is visible from many angles. If that feels too risky, the tops of the pillars are an easier high spot that still avoids the Hunters’ usual line of sight.
Horse statue
Painting yourself to match the surface of the horse statue and tucking into it is a creative spot that works surprisingly often. Statues already have a body-like shape, so a Hider there does not need to hide their silhouette completely.
Kitchen
The kitchen is full of objects to imitate. Players have hidden disguised as food, including a hunk of meat, and shelves with plates and jars are good cover for compact poses.
Decorations and banners
The balloon banner on the back wall of the main hall is a fun spot for confident painters. Colourful decorations forgive bold colour choices, as long as your shape fits the banner.
Brick walls
Brick areas look difficult, but a few well-placed dark lines that continue the mortar pattern make a flat base colour look like part of the wall.
Painting Tips for the Mansion
- Warm wood and cream tones dominate much of the map; sample them rather than mixing by eye.
- Many surfaces have visible grain or lines. Add a few strokes in the right direction.
- Paintings and frames create strong edges. If you hide next to one, match the frame line exactly.
- Rooms have different lighting. A colour sampled in the hall can look wrong in a side room.
Hunting in the Mansion
- Start with the library. It is the most popular hiding area, so check it carefully, especially low shelves.
- Look up in the main hall. Ceilings and pillar tops hide the best players.
- Look for “one too many”. With randomised furniture, memory helps less, but an extra object on a shelf or an oddly shaped book still stands out.
- Do not ignore statues. A statue that looks slightly different from its twin is worth a closer look.
- Check the kitchen items. Food and dishes are classic disguises.
Common Mistakes on This Map
- Everyone hiding in the library, so one discovery leads Hunters to the rest.
- Choosing the main hall and painting only one side, when Hunters pass from several directions.
- Relying on a spot from a video without checking whether the furniture moved.
- Ceiling hiding with a rushed paint job.
Why the Mansion Is the Best Training Map
The Mansion contains almost every type of spot you will find on other maps: bookshelves, statues, ceilings, clutter, patterned walls and plain surfaces. Getting comfortable here teaches you the skills you need everywhere else. Spend a few sessions trying a different area each round, watch the reveals and you will find the rest of the map rotation much easier.
