How to Win: Win Conditions Explained
Meccha Chameleon is a party game, but that does not mean winning is random. Each role has clear win conditions, and each mode changes them in its own way. Once you understand exactly what ends a round and who gets the victory, you start making smarter decisions: when a Hunter should hold their fire, when a Hider can afford a risky spot and how the host’s settings tilt the balance. This guide explains every way a round can be won or lost.
Win Conditions in Normal Mode
| Result | How it happens |
|---|---|
| Hunters win | Every Hider has been found and shot before the timer ends |
| Hiders win | At least one Hider is still hidden when the timer runs out |
| Hiders win | All Hunters have used up their ammo |
| Round ends | The number of Hunters drops to zero while they are still waiting to start |
Two points are worth noticing. First, Hiders win as a team: a single surviving Hider is enough. Second, Hunters can lose without the timer running out at all, simply by wasting their ammo.
What It Means for Hunters
Because running out of ammo loses the round, Hunters have to play efficiently. Every miss is a step towards defeat, and misses also make noise that tells nearby Hiders where you are.
- Confirm before you shoot. Walk up to a suspicious shape and compare it with the objects around it.
- Keep a reserve. The last Hiders are usually the best-hidden ones, and you need bullets to finish them.
- Cover the map. One Hider left in an unsearched room is enough for the other team to win.
- Treat clones carefully. A Hider can make up to two clones. Destroying one also eliminates its creator, but decoys placed in the open can lure you into wasting time and shots.
What It Means for Hiders
Hiders do not need everyone to survive, which changes how you should think about risk.
- Survival is shared. If you are caught early, your team can still win. Spread out so that one discovery does not reveal several Hiders at once.
- Waste their ammo. Every missed shot helps your team. Hiders who stay still when a Hunter is close often make the Hunter guess wrong.
- Time is on your side. In the last minute, Hunters get nervous and fire more. Hold your nerve and stay still.
How Host Settings Shift the Balance
| Setting | Helps Hunters when… | Helps Hiders when… |
|---|---|---|
| Hunter ammo | Set high | Set low |
| Forced taunts | Enabled with short intervals | Disabled or with long intervals |
| Body sizes | Only the default body allowed | Petit, Cube and Plump allowed |
| Map | Small, bright maps | Large, busy or dark maps |
| Number of Hunters | More Hunters | Fewer Hunters |
If one side keeps winning in your group, adjust one of these settings rather than changing everything at once. Ammo is usually the easiest lever to balance a lobby.
Win Conditions in Other Modes
Infection
In Infection, a Hider who gets caught becomes a Hunter. The hunting team grows with every catch, so the pressure on the remaining Hiders rises quickly. Being the last survivor in Infection is one of the hardest achievements in the game, and early catches matter a lot for the Hunters.
Double
In Double, everyone hides at the start and then everyone hunts. The winner is the player who finds the most people, or who finds everyone first. You need to be good at both roles: a great hiding spot keeps others from scoring on you, and sharp eyes let you collect finds quickly.
Reverse Chicken Race
Reverse Chicken Race flips the usual idea. Each player gets time to paint themselves, then the paint jobs are displayed on pedestals. After an observation period, players try to find the right person. It rewards careful observation and memorable, clever paint work rather than pure hiding.
Winning More Often: Quick Checklist
- As a Hunter, count your remaining ammo and never shoot on a hunch.
- As a Hunter, search every area at least once before double-checking rooms.
- As a Hider, spread out from other Hiders.
- As a Hider, stay still until the very end; the last seconds are when Hunters panic.
- As a host, balance the lobby with ammo and taunt settings.
- In every mode, watch the reveal to learn what worked.
